Jackie Holmes, M.Ed., MFT Program Founder and Director
Jackie has been working in the Eating Disorders Field for over 30 years. She was the Inpatient Clinical Coordinator for 5 years at Mt. Diablo's Serenity Program and for the last 18 years as been working as an outpatient therapist at the Concord Therapy Center for Eating Disorders. She also teaches at JFK university and UC Berkeley in theirEating Disorders Certification Programs. Having struggled with her own recovery from Bulimia and BED, she brings a personal dedication to helping those who are suffering, to find their own personal path of recovery. It was her frustration with the lack of services in Contra Costa County for women that led her to develop Casa Serena. It is her goal to provide a safe place with an experienced staff dedicated to helping these clients to develop their own healing plan.
Anne Hahn-Smith, Ph.D. Family Group Therapist
Anne comes to us from New Dawn Recovery centers and she brings her skills with working with adolescents and adults with Eating Disorders. Anne also has a private practice in the same building as Casa Serena and we are so happy to have her on staff. She runs the Family Education and Support group weekly and also works with individual families when called upon. She brings a deep insight and understanding to her work with this population.
Marcia Yamashiro, RD, CEDS Program Dietitian
Marcia brings her years of experience working both inpatient and in outpatient settings toCasa Serena. She sees each client in the program and designs their meal plan and supportsthem their efforts to recover, She also has a private practice in the same building to see outpatients and provide follow-up care for our clients.
Astra Kim Office Manager and Intake Coordinator
When you first call our program Astra is usually the first person you talk to. She will help you understand the process and procedures related to admission, help verify insurance and set up your financial contract. She handles all the billing and all general office duties. She is an invaluable asset to our overall program.
Jill Sabotka, MFT Group Therapist
Jill facilitates group therapy twice a week and has run expressive arts and movement groups in the past. Working with both teens and adults, she is authentic and real with clients, understanding the suffering caused by eating disorders. She offers inspiration and hope to clients along their path of recovery with a great deal of humor and love. Jill also maintains a private practice in Walnut Creek. Beverly Swann, MFT Group Therapist

Gertrudes Hernandez, Ph.D. DBT Group Therapist
Gertie comes to us from Alta Bates/Herrick hospital's Inpatient Teen Eating Disorders program. She works with the teens offering the DBT skills group and well as working with the adult women and men around Body Image Transformation. She brings her years of experience and a real passion and understanding of the Eating Disordered client.
Angela Madonia Yoga Therapist and Teacher
Angela brings a compassionate and gentle approach to mindfulness of the body when working with this population. She also works at the Yoga Healing Institute in San Francisco working with very diverse populations and giving them the experience of using yoga for healing and awakening.
