Casa Serena Eating Disorders Program
Intensive Outpatient  Program (IOP)

The primary goal of the IOP Program is to assist the client to address the underlying
issues that drive their eating disorders, and then to help them
develop new, more
positive coping skills.
It is our belief that if the client has better ways to deal with their
anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and difficult life situations, they would be using
those skills, and not need an eating disorder in their life.

In a safe and supportive setting we offer a full evening program ,
4 hours a day, 4 days a
week (Monday through Thursday),
which allows the client to focus on developing a
deeper understanding and cultivating new skills for recovery and they have the
opportunity to explore new ways of being in their bodies and in their world.

There are a variety of process groups that seek to encourage each client to look more
deeply into themselves.

and  nutritional consultations  are included in the program

separately.

Since food is a major focal point in these disorders.  Our dietary program is uniquely
designed to empower the client to bring mindfulness to their relationship with food.
There is a
dinner meal provided each evening, and the staff eats  with the clients in a
family setting, to help normalize and role model healthy eating habits for recovery.  There
are
restaurant outings every other week throughout the program to help them
de-sensitize in public settings.  They also have the opportunity to plan a menu, shop for
the ingredients and prepare a quick and easy meal each week.
Our multi purpose space serves as dining
area and art space.  The tables collapse and
it converts into a yoga room.
