We Can Help
There can be many reasons why a person develops an Eating Disorder. For example: Social pressure to achieve and maintain a physical ideal, a vulnerable genetic predisposition to addictive behavior, stress-driven overeating, low self-esteem, or a co-occurring mental health problem such as depression or anxiety. These are only a "few" causes. Whatever the reason may be, we view your Eating Disorder as a symptom of losing connection to your self. At your core, you know why you struggle with disordered eating, and we are here to support your process of recovery.
You may have suppressed emotions, have experienced overwhelming life changes, or have wrestled with beliefs learned in your family system that keep you from connecting to your self and your truth. All of us have pain locked up inside. The goal of individual and group therapy is to help you get back into touch with what you need in your life to feel healthy, nourished, and fulfilled. At Casa Serena, we support you in the process of developing life-long skills for healing. We honor the courage it takes to ask for help. And we believe in your ability to make positive changes in your life as a way to let go of an Eating Disorder. |
